With an increase in the global population and the growing scarcity of our natural resources ; current climatic problems, human beings are wondering about their perception of nature and the place it holds in the their  life and that since their young age.

In this context of creating an urgent awareness, l’Aventure du Sucre has been chosen to host an exhibition on biodiversity by UNIVERSCIENCE; a first in Mauritius.

This exhibition has been completed by the works, researches of Mauritians who has been working for the preservation of biodiversity especially the amazing work of Professor Ameenah Gurib Fakim on the endemic flora of the island, and that of the Mauritius Oceanography Institute (MOI) and the Mauritius Marine Conservation Society (MMCS) on marine fauna. Some other artists like Nirmal Hurry the sculptor who gave a new meaning to nature by breathing new life to birds and other animals in metal are also exhibiting their work in connection to the theme.

Content of the exhibition:

• The challenges of biodiversity (UNIVERSCIENCE): 16 illustrated panels, 3 films whereby the reintroduction of coral in the Mauritian lagoon; 2 multimedia quiz
• Mauritius and its biodiversity: films (identification of native plants, quiz, sculptures, photos, prints, aquarium (touch pool), displays of rare corals and endangered animals (sea turtle, Mauritian kestrel, dugong …), plants and herbs, stalls of spices and medicinal plants.
